Good products exist. None were made for Indian skin, in Indian weather. We're fixing that.

The Insight

One country, a dozen climates — one formula for all of it

Walk into any store and the skincare aisle looks the same everywhere — from Ahmedabad's dry heat to Mumbai's humidity to Jaipur's dust. The products don't change. The claims don't change. But your skin does, city to city, season to season.

Most of what's on the shelf was formulated somewhere else — Seoul, Paris, California — for skin and weather that isn't ours. Imported brands optimize for their own climates and their own melanin levels, then localize the marketing, not the formula. The result underperforms quietly, for years, and nobody questions why.

Chevean starts from the opposite direction. We formulate for the city first — its heat, its humidity, its pollution — and for Indian skin's specific tendencies: dehydrated-oily texture, pigmentation that imported actives don't address correctly, and the inflammation that comes after every single shave. Then we build the product.

City

Every city has its own water hardness, pollution load, and dust profile. What works in Jaipur doesn't work identically in Surat. We formulate zone by zone, not country-wide.

Climate

Heat, humidity, and dryness change how skin barriers behave. A moisturizer built for a temperate lab underperforms the moment it meets 45°C and dust.

Skin Type

Indian male skin skews dehydrated-oily far more often than the "oily vs. dry" binary most brands formulate for. We design for the combination, not the extremes.

Season

Summer, monsoon, and winter demand different things from the same face. Our formulations are built to hold up across the year, not just at launch.

The Founder

Why I built this

I didn't start with a lab or a formula — I started with a frustration I kept hearing, in almost the exact same words, from friends, cousins, guys at the gym: "kuch hota hi nahi," nothing actually works. Everyone had tried three or four imported brands and quietly given up. I went looking for a serious explanation and found a category-wide blind spot instead — nobody was formulating for Indian men, in Indian conditions, with any real rigor.

I'm not a dermatologist and I didn't grow up in a lab. What I had was the willingness to go deeper than the marketing — to sit with formulators, understand actives, understand why a product that works beautifully in Seoul falls flat in Surat, and build something honest instead of another imported bottle with a localized label. Chevean is that answer, built slowly and on purpose.
